My prayer

Lord,

I pray that you give me the courage, strength and wisdom to speak of your greatness to everyone. Your love for us is unconditional and your grace sustains us. Without your guidance, I would be nowhere and I can bask in your glory. Please take away my human tendencies like selfishness, fear, and doubt and replace it with a faith that is unshakeable and unresponsive to worldly circumstances. I pray that I seek you first in all I do and that I have the heart of a servant. I have everything to gain if I just trust in you. Please ease my weary heart, mind, and soul and take away my cares and worries. You loved us so much that you sacrificed your son on all of mankind's behalf, for our sins that would have led us to eternal death. Because of your grace and mercy, I am here today and want to serve you the rest of my life and want to go wherever you lead me. I pray that everyone in this world comes to know you personally and that we all live to praise your name to every tribe, tongue and nation. In Jesus Christ's name I pray,

Amen.

Downtown: Journey of a Heart

God bless our soldiers

God bless our soldiers

Blood, sweat, tears,

love, hate, anger,

Pride, honor, loyalty

Lonely, despaired, exhausted

Hopeful, inspired, driven

Victorious, excited, safe

I can only imagine the feelings that assault you

in foreign lands amidst unfamiliar languages and customs

I pray for your safety, for comfort, for support, and for hope that is never lost.

Words cannot encompass how much I thank and appreciate the countless dangerous situations and sleepless nights you have endured.

God is with you and works through the good and evil that surrounds you.

No matter what is decided about the war, I pray that our country unites in support for your protection and safe returns.

John 14: 27 "Peace I leave with you, My peace I give to you; not as the world gives do I give to you. Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid.

Philipians 4: 6 Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication, with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God; 7 and the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.

The Fire Inside

The Fire Inside

Every fire needs a spark, an ignition, electricity and force. What is the source of your fire? My fire has been started by my sheer desire and will in the past. No one has ever started the fire inside of me but many have dampened it or stimulated it to burn bright and intense. Desire and will can get you out of the bed and get you going but you have to be continually fueled by something or someone that will never stop adding to the fire. Do you rely on others, or money, or fame, or power to fuel your fire? I use to rely on myself, my unquenchable desire to gain knowledge, and my strong will to make this world a better place. I began to run on empty and eventually stopped going when I was completely weak and helpless. It was then that I became closer with God than I have ever been. When you feel hopeless and realize that you can't make it on your own anymore, God is there to pick you up when you can't walk anymore; there to love you when you don't love yourself; there to dry your tears when they won't stop raining down. He is my energy source, the spark and continual fuel to keep my fire burning. Fire is a source of thermal energy that warms those who surround it but it can be deadly if not controlled. The fire inside me doesn't seek to harm others or myself. It seeks to warm others' hearts and to help stimulate them to keep going and doing good for the world. I pray that my fire keeps burning bright; sometimes it will be slow and less intense but I will keep going despite my weakness, for when I am weak, He is very strong. I am complete in Christ and through His sacrifice, I am able to have a close relationship without barriers or constraints. I hope my fire is evident and will help you along in your journey.
